Atharva Veda 10.7: The Skambha hymn - the cosmic pillar that upholds the universe. ‘In whom are set firm, as it were with linchpins, progeny and cattle, in whom are contained the six wide spaces - in Skambha tell me, what is that Brahma?’ Precursor to Vishnu as the cosmic upholder (Ananta Shesha).
